Postcards from Azeroth

The fabled world of Azeroth as seen through the eyes of an intrepid adventurer, Akmak. It's the same old World of Warcraft...but in scenic bite-size portions.

Pensive by the sea

Azshara is a high-lvl zone in Kalimdor, and it's perpetually autumn. It's shaped like a giant crab's claw which means it's a bear to get serious farming done. However, Akmak enjoys going there because of the desolate nature of scenery and population. One of the most interesting zones in terms of the wide variety of topography and ecology.

Don't bug me...

AQ40 is an instance at the southern end of Silithus and the mobs drop these super fun bug mounts. They are super fun for a couple reasons, but the first is that they come in a bunch of different colors. Yellow is the most common and that was my first one, but I like the yellow. They move at epic speed even indoors and are sort of skittery so it feels like you're zooming by even faster. Unfortunately, you can only use them within that instance (even in AQ20 you can't use it!) and since our guild's in hibernation til expansion...well, I guess this pic is as close as I can get to my mandibular friend...

Feast of Winter's Veil

The Feast of Winter's Veil is Azeroth's vigorous nodding to in-game Christmas. You can buy snowballs, holiday spirits, get free holly and mistletoe, and even pick presents from under the tree. Though Akmak can't because evidently I haven't completed the quest yet. Oops.

Akmak has been transformed into a gnome through the magic that is the gnome-o-matic machine in Stormwind. You can keep jumping into the machine until you get a gnome face you like...

Winter is Sprung

Nothing says winter like Winterspring. Oh sure, Dun Morogh is snowy enough...but WS is so cold the dragons turn blue. Yeah! Take that!

Another oft-overlooked facet of Everlook is that the buildings are lined with penguin wallpaper, whereas in Tanaris identical domesciles feature a pineapple motif.

Akmak enjoys WS because of the frosty air, the high occurance of Black Lotus, the driving need to harvest icecap for Major Mana Potions... Ah, a farmer's life for me!
